Do you have
the Pleasure Craft Operator Card
PCOC?
- Transport
Canada's Competency of Operators of Pleasure Craft Regulations require
operators of pleasure craft fitted with a motor and used for recreational
purposes to have proof of competency on board at all times.
- Consequently
anyone taking the helm is required to have the Card, regardless of whether
the motor is operating or not. The Card is valid for life.
- Through
its instructors accredited by the Canadian Yachting Association, the GBSC
offers preparation courses in French and English and the written test. The
GBSC also provides the Card.
- You
may obtain your PCOC from elsewhere, but you need to have at least a Basic
Membership in order to take the PCOC Certification offered by the GBSC.
