Do you have the Pleasure Craft Operator Card
– PCOC?

• Transport Canada's Competency of Operators of Pleasure Craft Regulations require operators of pleasure craft fitted with a motor and used for recreational purposes to have proof of competency on board at all times.
• Consequently anyone taking the helm is required to have the Card, regardless of whether the motor is operating or not. The Card is valid for life.
• Through its instructors accredited by the Canadian Yachting Association, the GBSC offers preparation courses in French and English and the written test. The GBSC also provides the Card.
• You may obtain your PCOC from elsewhere, but you need to have at least a Basic Membership in order to take the PCOC Certification offered by the GBSC.

Annual end of the season BBQ

·         The center will provide hamburgers (beef, chicken, vegetarian), dressings, and chips. Bring either salad or dessert and your own beverages.

·         The event starts at 4:00 PM, supper at 6:00 PM and a surprise at 7:00 PM to celebrate the 30^th anniversary of the Center.

·         $15 per person. $5 for children 12 and under. Your guests are welcome.

 

October 2010 Winterizing of the boats

• Location : Marina d'Alymer
• Here is an opportunity to help and learn on how to winierize a boat and prepare it for those long winter nights.
• No experience is required; we will match your talents to the work to do. Contact the persons responsible for the boat maintenance.

 

November 2010 AGM and Supper

• Location : l'hôtel Ramada, Le Manoir du Casino, le Salon Casino Royal/Salomon, 75 rue Edmonton, Gatineau (secteur Hull)
• Our Annual General Meeting will be held, open to all members. 
• Election of the board members
• Annual reports from the different committees.
• Information on opportunities volonteer on different project or committes.
• The CNBG Boutique will be there if you wish to purchase or order our products and clothing. You can see our product line under the Boutique Menu.
• You can already register for the next year's programs and benefit from and early bird rebate.
• After the meeting, the members can leave or join us for a delightful dinner at the Bifthèque restaurant in the same building. 

 

Feb/March 2011 IT'S SUGARBUSH TIME!!!

Join up with your CNBG friends to celebrate Spring and treat yourself to a succulent traditional Sugar Cabin meal, complemented with music and dancing.

• An information session on our sailing and training programes will take place.

May 2011 Skipper De-rusting

• The season starts off with a de-rusting exercise where our skippers review  safety  procedures and practice sailing maneuvers to prepare for the season.
