BOAT MAINTENANCE
Thanks to our boat maintenance coordinators (skippers and members), you’ll have the opportunity to learn how we prepare and repair our boats during the season.
We have a boat maintenance coordinator for Namastar (Daniel) and for Nika (Jacques).
Both have assistants, but this is not enough.
Members are welcome to help during the different maintenance opportunities. Contacting in due time the coordinator is the best way to get involved.
Maintenance tasks:
- How to prepare them and be launched for the season.
- On going maintenance during the sailing season. Regular maintenance to repairs as needed.
- At the end of the season, how take them out of the water and winterize them.
Maintenance schedule:
- The preparation and launching takes place in the spring. Weather permiting, maintenance begins in April and continues into May.
- The preparation to pull them out of the water and to winterize them takes place at the end of the season in September and early October.
- Normal boat maintenance continues throughout the sailing season. It can be at dock or even at anchor.
